Biography PERSONALITY: Kaname presents a polite and calm demeanor to almost all those he meets, even if they may be people he really has no opinion of, to maintain the image of Kuran. While some of it is not a front, Kaname has very few things that interest him, and would much rather be sleeping, instead of attending a school. He maintains a certain distance between himself and others, preferring to only confide some things to those select few he trusts and is willing to trust Yuuki in the care of if he needs to be away from her. It can also come off as intimidating, as Kaname's an imposing presence and does not take genuine disrespect well. He's overprotective of Yuuki and won't hesitate to either chase someone away if he doesn't want them around or punish them if they hurt her or think about hurting her in any way. He is very indulgent of her and is one of the few he will listen to, to an extent. Everything he does, he does for her, even if it means getting his hands dirty. Kaname can be unreasonable and ignorant of the feelings of others. He doesn't care to be made a big deal of and in a way, can be lazy, especially if it's not important no matter what Aidou thinks and doesn't care for the politics of the senate, even if he plays the part well. He's not above manipulating everyone to keep the sanctuary of the school safe and has no remorse in playing chess with the lives of others. For the most part, though, he'll be playing the part of 'benevolent' and 'fair' Moon Dorm President. IN-GAME HISTORY: Kaname is one of the Progenitor Vampires, the very first pureblood vampires. He met the Ancestress, and eventually began to research the way to kill the immortal Purebloods when Purebloods began decimating the human race to make their puppets to be worshiped like gods. Having found a way, Kaname intended to sacrifice himself to become the parent metal, but instead the Ancestress fed her blood to the humans who would be the first Hunters and threw her heart in the furnace. It then became his sworn duty, and the Hunters to eliminate the Purebloods, until eventually, tired, he went to sleep, never intending to wake. Rido sacrificed Haruka and Juri's first-born son to awaken him so he could have the 'richest blood of the Kuran'. Kaname wounded him and, due to being weak and unable to control his thirst, regressed his form into that of a baby and locked his memories away, pretending to be Yuuki's older brother for the couple. Because Haruka and Juri were not killed and Yuuki was never threatened, Kaname did not have a reason to manipulate things the way he had in canon, sparing many lives. He still maintained the same distrustful view of the Senate as his parents, but he made no overt moves against them. He attends the Academy only because Yuuki wishes to, to ease the minds of their parents and himself.
